After the success of the Islamic revolution in Iran that happened in 1979, the leader of the revolution, Imam Ruhullahi Almusawiy Alkhumaini (k.s.) established this day to help the Palestinians. It’s been 45 years since the nations of the world celebrated this day through processions and meetings. Here is the text of the explanation that Imam Khomeini (ks) made in this regard:-
“I call on all Muslims to observe the last Friday of this blessed month of Ramadan as Qudus Day, and express their support for the Palestinians. For many years, apart from proclaiming to Muslims the danger of Israel and the terrible attacks, it has targeted Muslim men and women, and it is targeting Southern Lebanon in isolation in order to eliminate the struggle of the Palestinians and their resistance. I call on all the Muslims of the world and their authorities to do what they have to do to cut off the hands of this terrorist and their workers. I call on all the Muslims of the world to observe this last Friday of this month of Ramadan as International Qudus Day. I ask God to help the Muslims against the infidels."
This is the call that the late Imam Khomeini (ks) has made since that time, and the call has reached the ears of people who are compassionate and humane, because Muslims and non-Muslims, even Jews who do not believe in Zionism, are living this great day. This series of processions and gatherings is carried out even in the cities of America, which is the mistress of the Jews of Israel.
Since 1948, Shia and Sunni Muslims have begun to think about which way to go to solve the Palestinian issue. Before the success of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in 1979, there was no single Muslim leader who gave the Palestinians the same privilege as Imam Khomeini (kss) did. In his speeches when he was in Iran before he immigrated to other countries, he harshly criticized the Zionist Jews and their occupation of Palestine. After the success of his revolution, he established the last Friday of every holy month of Ramadan as Qudus Day.

After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Imam refused to accept Israel as a country, which made Iran expel the ambassador of Israel and cut off all relations with it. In addition, its embassy has become a center for discussing the issue of Palestinians and the struggle for the liberation of their land from the occupying Israelis.

Qudus Day in the World
After issuing this fatwa, Muslims and non-Muslims responded to Imam Khomeini's call regarding Quds Day by coming out in procession and writing to show their support for Palestine.
Here is a review of how the development of Qudus Day developed from the year 2015-2023 until today in some countries around the world.
1. Iran
From 2015-2023, millions of people in different cities in the country celebrated International Qudus Day. The cities include Tehran, Mashhad, Kum, Shiraz and others. At least in 2015, 900 cities held the Qudus Protest in Iran. During the procession, they uttered slogans such as "Death to America and Israel" and others.
2. Nigeria
It is the most populous country in Africa with over 250 million people in it. Although there are Muslims, Christians, and people of traditional religion, between the years 2015-2023, the Islamic Movement under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (h) has been organizing Jerusalem protests, while more than 60 cities are running it. In 2015, the former President Buhari's government attacked the teacher and killed a thousand of his disciples, although this did not stop the continuation of the meetings, especially the Qudus protests. Demonstrations were held in large and medium cities such as Zaria, Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Yobe, Katsina, Yola, Kebbi, Abuja, Suleja, Lagos and others. In 2002 in Kano, 2009 in Zaria, 2014, and 2023 in Abuja, the security forces of Nigeria attacked the peaceful marchers, killing people and injuring others. In 2014, the Army killed 34 people, including the three sons of Sheikh Zakzaky.
3. Bahrain
Between the years 2015-2023, the people of Bahrain have been carrying out peaceful demonstrations in support of the Palestinians.
4. Iraq
In Iraq from 2015-2023, millions of people came out every year to show support for the weak Palestinians. They are showing that the roots of the terrorist organizations of ISIS, DA'ESH are from the Zionist Jews.
5. Lebanon
In Lebanon, during these years, the Hezbollah militant group and the Amal group have been celebrating this day through meetings to protest against the Zionist Jews and the terrorism they are doing in Palestine.
6. Yemen
In Yemen, in these years, the Ansarullah movement has been organizing demonstrations to show support for the Palestinians despite the war launched by the United States and Israel in the country through the hands of Saudi Arabia.
7. Syria.
In Syria, since 2015-2023, they have been celebrating Jerusalem Day with a show of support for the Palestinians.
8. Afghanistan
In Afghanistan, Quds Day was also celebrated, especially in the city of Kabul. On the other hand, cities such as Harat, Mazar and Ghazni Shia and Sunni Muslims used to attend.
Countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Sweden, England, Niger and Ghana have all celebrated Qudus Day during these years.

1. The Arabs should have established the city of Jerusalem before 5,000 years, while the Arabs held it to be their capital. They made great buildings in all their parts.
2. The First King
His name is Malakiy-Sadik, and he is the one who received Prophet Ibrahim (as) when he came to Palestine. The Museum of Misra has confirmed some building elements that confirm the existence of the city since those years.
3. In 1879, some tablets were found with "Aurasam" (meaning the city of safety) written on them while the Yubisiyyun Arabs were living in the town at that time.
4. In the year 1300, the city was invaded by Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians and Greeks.
5. In the year 636 AD, Prophet Isa (as) appeared in this town.
6. In 139 AD, the Byzantine commander Hadrian attacked the city.
7. In the year 335 AD, the largest church was established in the city, called Alkiyama.
8. Between the years 629-636, the Romans brought the city back under their control.
9. Between 1917 and 636 was the period when Arabs and Islam gained freedom in the city.
10. In the year 636, the Muslim Arabs brought the town back under their control.
11. In the year 691, the Umayyad caliph Abdulmalik bin Marwan built a large Dome in the Jerusalem Mosque.
12. In the year 1099, the Crusaders (Kuros worshipers) invaded the city of Jerusalem and killed 70/100 of the inhabitants. They then changed the mosque into a big church that they called "Kanisati Sayyidil Masih" and held the city for 88 years.
13. In 1187 Salahudeen Ayyubiy liberated Jerusalem and rebuilt it as it was.
14. Between the years 1840-1831, the town was under the rule of Muhammad Ali Basha.
15. In 1873 Jerusalem was withdrawn from the control of Dimashka Syria now.
16. In 1882, Jews began to emigrate from Russia and other countries to the city of Jerusalem.
17. Between the years 1948-1917 during the European occupation of the city.
18. In 1917, the Europeans conspired with the conspiracy of the "Barfour" declaration, that is, the "Belfour Declaration." This is the black declaration that created the illegal State of Israel.
19. It was in 1922 that the British government declared the legality of the emigration of Jews from the occupied countries to the land of Palestine, along with the possession of their land and the beginning of genocide against the original owners of the country.
20. In 1935, Kassam's struggle started with his martyrdom at the hands of the British.
21. It was in 1936 that the Palestinian struggle continued its activities until 1939.
22. In 1948, a war broke out between the Jews and the Arabs, in which the Jews fought against the Arabs.
23. In 1967, the Jews occupied the entire city of Jerusalem.
24. On July 25, 1967, Israel carried out a census in the city of Jerusalem, and then gave the residents of the city a citizenship card, while those who did not have a residency card.
25. On September 1, 1967, a conference was held in the city of Khartoum-Sudan, and all the Jews were asked to leave the Palestinian towns.
26. On August 21, 1969, a Jew set fire to the Jerusalem Mosque.
27. On October 10, 1990, the Jewish forces broke into the Jerusalem Mosque, killing 23 people and injuring many more with serious injuries.
28. On October 17, 2001, Raban Zaifiy, the Prime Minister of Israel, was killed by a group of Palestinian fighters.
29. On 2/7/2014, the Jews arrested Muhammad Abu Khudair, 16 years old, in the neighborhood of Sha'adaf-Kudus and burned him alive.
30. On May 14, 2018, the American Embassy was taken from Tel Aviv and returned to Jerusalem, which is against international law.
